Wimps and Warriors

We are in spiritual warfare, not just in our country but globally. Satan is seeking to destroy the church and your family. It is not the time for you to be a wimp; it's time for your to gird yourself with truth, put your spiritual armor on, and fight!

Just like most of you, I have been appalled at the changes in our country this past year. In the last few weeks, those changes have been on steroids. I have found myself in tears and absolute grief as American rights are one by one being stripped away, and there seems to be a spiritual blindness. There seems to be a destructive Christian attitude of submission to unbiblical laws created by government, and a lot of believers have fallen for it hook line and sinker. When a government tells the church not to meet, the government is violating the command in Hebrews 10:25 which tells believers to meet together. Unfortunately, church leadership around the globe has fallen for this ploy and crippled their churches. It is not time to be a wimp, pastor.

In a time when Biblical doctrine should be firmly cemented into our core, a major, global, evangelical denomination is seeking to change their constitution by the following:

  1. Use gender neutral verbiage.

  2. Soften their description of hell.

  3. Completely get rid of the rapture.

  4. Change Biblical requirements of church leadership.

As a believer attending one of these churches, what should one do? With the Bible as the only guide, fight for truth. There is a misconception that has been presented for decades that church members need to blindly follow church leadership. Pastors, church boards, elders, and deacons are sinners, just like their congregants. Every believer in Jesus Christ has the responsibility to distinguish between Biblical truth and socially acceptable modifications to truth. Sure, taking a stand against the status quo may result in some uncomfortable situations, but we are not called to be wimps. We are called to be warriors.

Pastors, churches, and believers have justified to a sickening fault why they can vote for political candidates who support the genocide of babies. I've been horrified to see the line drawn in the sand by so many professing Christians through their cowardly articles and posts on social media justifying their choice of God-hating candidates. As we see the true Gospel being replaced with the social Gospel, more and more church leaders will deceive their congregants to soften and accept sin, muddy the waters on issues of abortion and non-Biblical marriage, and encouraging non-active, non-evangelistic approaches to evangelism. Beware, church, and have your armor on!

There have been many times this past year that I have just wanted to bury my face in my pillow and pretend that the world was not changing around me, but I would be miss out on God's calling for my life. God is looking for mighty men and women to work until He comes to take us home. So, what does a believer do in this critical time in history?

Know your Bible - it's your guide book.

Speak the truth.

Confront head-on misinterpretations of God's Word.

Align yourself with a Biblically sound group of believers.

Go outside of your comfort zone to make disciples.

Don't be a wimp; be a warrior!
