ABOUT

James grew up in a Christian home in Defiance, Ohio. He received the Lord as His personal Savior as a young child. He received his Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and his Master's of Business Administration and has worked as an engineer for many years.

 

Monica was raised in a pastor's home, and she was saved as a young child. After earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Performance, Monica worked in professional theater, taught music classes in elementary, middle school, high school, and college, worked as a musical director in church, and began traveling to perform for churches, conferences, and events.

 

James and Monica Vernot were married on October 24, 2009 in a suburb outside of Toledo, Ohio. They eventually moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana and were living the ideal American dream. James had a good job in engineering, and Monica was working as a freelance musician and teacher. They were active in church, and frankly living a good life.

 

God started moving James and Monica toward missions which proceeded in multiple short and long term trips to Colombia, South America. As a result, the Vernots became heavily involved with overseas missionaries and pastors.

 

God eventually moved James and Monica and their young children back to Toledo, Ohio where they have become active in local and foreign outreach. James and Monica are in regular contact with missionaries on foreign fields speaking via skype to congregations and encouraging their leaders. James takes regular missions trips to supply resources and encouragement to missionaries and believers. On the local front, the Vernots are involved in missions and outreach at their local church through international student ministries, missions prayer gatherings, and active missions support. James is assisting in Saturate Toledo whose goal is to take the Gospel message to every door in the city of Toledo. He is also working with Mission Cry, collecting used Bibles and Christian literature and placing them all over the world. Monica speaks and performs at churches and women's conferences.  She has written for Focus on the  Family Magazine and is a monthly writer for Pathway Christian Newspaper. As a family, the Vernots lead backyard VBS, participate in Nation's Light outreach events, and neighbor with the sole intention of sharing the love of Jesus through word and action.
