My only source of gravity the last few months has been my relationship with the Lord. Everything has been so unsure, so unsteady, but Christ alone has kept my feet planted when the world threatens to uproot so much of my life. I remember one night when I literally lay prostrate on the floor crying out to God. That night, I came to an emotional collapse, but God saw me through that time. And He has used my cries of fear and uncertainty to continue to grow my faith and complete trust in Him.
It is so easy to look at the world around us and completely collapse from grief. However, amidst all the evil, we are seeing spiritual doors open unlike ever before. God has allowed good, good things to begin to grow in our family. One of the biggest blessings this past year was starting an AWANA program in our home in response to churches shutting their doors to onsite kid's ministries. I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing blessing these children have been to us. We have seen numerous visitors attend, hundreds of verses memorized, and the root of evangelism sprout in the lives of these kids.
Every year, we spend a day in Dearborn, Michigan with Nation's Light Ministries, as they faithfully minister to internationals. It was so encouraging this past December to see this group not be daunted in their pursuit. Many groups went throughout the city caroling and giving the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Christians came to do God's work, and as a result many in the international community had the opportunity to hear the Gospel.
Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in California has doubled in size this past year. This church, boldly led by Pastor Jack Hibbs, went from a five thousand congregant audience to ten thousand people through the pandemic! In one Saturday in September, the church baptized 1,000 believers! Can I get a virtual AMEN? Sure, they have gotten criticism. When God is working, Satan is right there doing everything in his power to discourage and destroy. But thankfully, the leadership of this church has pushed forward, not living in fear and not submitting to unbiblical mandates. And God has miraculously blessed this ministry.
Why do I give you these examples? Very Simple. Our world looks pretty bleak right now. As believers, we are not to fall under the weight of the world. We are to rise to battle and fight for truth, God's truth. You can indeed make a difference....TODAY! Share Christ with your neighbor. Volunteer to teach a Sunday school class. Pass out Gospel tracks to people that God puts in your path. Train your kids and grandkids to follow God with all of their hearts. Get creative. Find ways to advance God's Kingdom. Your little sprout that pops up from the ground may look small to you, but God mightily uses little sprouts.
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
